There's that and the fact that I've been completely uninspired to create anything anyway. I've been very out of Pokemon lately but I'm planning on jumping back in now that winter break is here. I'm also taking my first computer science class next semester. Not sure how it's going to go, but after finally receiving some formal instructions on programming I'll actually be able to create more interesting, interactive content for the site. I'm actually planning on getting rid of Joomla and turning back to just my own hand coded website with more or less all the features that are here now once I become skilled enough for it!
The only site updates that have been finished in the past 2 months are 2 new Pokemon in the Design and Inconsistencies page and 3 new Pokemon artworks: Wailmer, Cubone, and Dewgong. Pretty pathetic, I know. I'll seriously try to spend more time on the site but as of right now my life has completely changed so I'm busy adjusting to it and school will start in about 5 days, so I'll also be busy with my classes. I'll always make sure to find time for TSI though despite all this! :)
I just found out that all Berkeley students get to download the entire Adobe CS6 collection for free. So that means I get to have fully legal and functional versions of Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Illustrator, and InDesign (dunno what that is) on my computer.
'Scuse me while I go nerdgasm somewhere. And go make plans in the fall to bow down to whoever negotiated and funded this.
But more importantly, I've started my internship on Monday and it has really reduced the amount free time I have. So basically, after subtracting the hours I work and subtracting the hours I have with my IRL friends (we're all parting ways after this summer, so I gotta make the best of this time!), there's pretty much no time for me to work on the site, except maybe on weekends again like it was during school. :(
Now, the title of this update refers to a little experiment I've been doing with Google image search. Basically, part of the reason why I've been posting full-blown images of the Pokemon art on the updates (aside from them looking way more awesome) rather than the thumbnail is that I've found that's the only way for the images to get indexed by Google. I used to not care, but now that I'm actually getting a lot of search engine traffic, I want all my old art before I started posting them on the news updates to get indexed. So here's the Eevee family:
I guess I'll go through the old art a few at a time. Am I abusing this space? Yeah, probably and I really apologize for that! To help decrease the load speed on the front page I added pagination for the news articles. Sorry about this thing being so inconvenient but Google just really doesn't seem to index the images straight from the Joomgallery interface, so I have to do this. :/
Anyway, I promise that I'll get back to work on the site soon. And in ways other than art updates all the time. :)
Other than that, there's nothing new besides some more art: Aerodactyl, Emolga, Dragonair, Dragonite, Celebi, and Persian.
I'll get around to doing actual written-word site content after I get back. I can feel my art binge slowly fading away.
